What's the fun in using a Viking long boat if you're just gonna arab it with a diesel engine? You need 1oo man slaves being whipped while they row feverishly, suffering hallucinogenic memories of the rape of their mothers and wives at the hands of your crewmen while dehydration, scurvy and starvation drive them to gnaw gently at their own flesh every time the oar swings up, bringing their Can near their filthy, parched mouth.

With the right wind it can actually go faster with the sails. But the engine, compass, and electronics are required by law. It's as authentic as it gets. And I'd hit it.
